How it started

From troubleshooting calls to a real practice

Outpost Consulting grew out of years of hands-on technical work, helping people and organizations close to home who needed straightforward help getting their technology, content, and projects sorted out. What started as word-of-mouth favors turned into a standing practice, still built on the same approach: show up, listen first, fix what's actually broken.

Outpost is run by James Sallee, who's spent nearly two decades leading technical programs and operations everywhere from the FBI to national consulting engagements, including turning a stalled $200M system into a successful platform that had eluded the agency for two decades. He's built and led teams ranging from five people to several hundred, founded two independent consulting practices along the way, and now brings that same systems-first, get-it-actually-working approach to the technology problems sitting on your desk.
